It's Jeans Week and I reinvented an outfit I wore in March of 2013. Here's then:

And here is now (remixed!):

I'm going for safari school girl here
Jacket: Marshall's
Shirt: Thrifted
Skirt: Thrifted
Shoes: DSW

The ponytail makes it look sweet and preppy

Red lipstick really dresses it up!

A bonus today, two-for-one (twofer). I gots a weekend outfit photo (with a hat) and I liked it so much that I wanted to post it.

Isn't it the cutest? I'm way into hats right now.
Jacket: Marshall's
Leggings: Franchesca's
Shoes: Target
Hat: A gift!

It's like a indie/safari/tribal mix and I love it! Fashion should be fun!

Also, it's Jeans Week. Although we are not allowed to wear casual denim blue jeans to work, I thought we could play around with denim in other ways: jackets, colors, chambray (aka denim shirts). For example, I wore black jeans today!

That little piece of ankle is so important in creating a slimming look!
Blouse: Thrifted
Shoes: Target

I love how your eyes are drawn to the floral panel down the middle.

Hats in the Workplace

I tried something new today and I wore a hat to work. I didn't wear it into my appointments (that would just be downright distracting for my patients!) but I did wear it around mostly non-patient areas and let me tell you...it was a hit! Why don't we wear hats to work? I mean, we don't need to wear hats AT work, we could just wear hats TO work! Just to spice things up if nothing else! And I wore this hat with a button down. Would you expect anything different?

I just played today. It was Friday! Case in point:

The regular. Aren't these shoes the BEST? They're comfy, too.
Shirt: Thrift
Skirt: Thrift
Shoes: Target

The hat!

Top o the mornin to you!

It looks better with my eyes covered so you can see the whole hat

And again!

Heyyyyyyyy beach waves today

Equestrian Chic

Tonight, we saw Sam Smith in concert. Holy geez, he was amazing. That voice! Soulful, smooth, mesmerizing. He certainly has staying power. I was obsessed with him before, but now I'm even more in love with him considering his raw, effortless voice and sweet, pure presence.

I participated in Button Ups Week with a cute little play on equestrian:

Plaid and camel cords with boots is such a great fall look!

Button It Up

Hi y'all. I just got back from a lovely weekend in Wisconsin with my fam. It was so much fun! We met sweet Archer John...

We already love each other
I did some closets consults to prepare for the launch of my styling business...

I brought these items for her and guessed her size exactly!

Styled by yours truly :)

This babe is 40 years old today! HBD Jane!

Plaid and khaki does not necessarily mean camping, fyi

Pause for a photo break!
 I styled my mama, too!

Great color on her! Jewel tones are good on everyone!
We Lambeau Leaped...

We leaped about 2 feet off the ground
And we looked on as my sweet little cousin ate chocolate cupcakes in her emo glasses and preppy schoolgirl outfit...

Eden is ever-chic
And then we came back to work and participated in (crafted, actually) a brilliant week of button down shirts (or button ups, if that's what you prefer).

Shirt: Thrifted
Scarf: Charmin' Charlie
Pants: Thrifted
Shoes: Target

The cut of the shirt gives me a nice shape and curves to flatter my hips

Oh, this hair

Going Home

For me, Polka Dot Week is ending today. Why, you ask? Tomorrow, Jason and I are off to Milwaukee for multiple reasons: To meet our newest nephew, Archer. To hug and kiss and love on my family. To drive to Green Bay and see extended family. To show pictures from Africa to our nearest and dearest. To do some personal styling consultations as a pilot project for the new business I'm launching come October. Many reasons to celebrate our return to Wisconsin. I love that place! Nothing like going home. So, without further ado (and so I can finish packing):

Polka dots and ruffles. What more could you want?

Shirt: Target
Skirt: JCPenney's
Shoes: Taos

Anchor earrings! Aren't they the cutest?!
